I don't think I've asked this before...

I've had the Formentor for a few months now. It was bought secondhand from a main dealer. The salesman told me they don't come with a big, paper Owners Manual booklet these days - just a little, thin 'quick start guide' type of thing. Was he correct?

If you've bought a facelift Formentor, did it come with a nice big fat Owners Manual?

We got our ex-demo Facelift last week and yes it did come with a Owners Manual, A5 size or slightly smaller but Fat and about 200 pages. Not like the old ones with decent size 10 or 12 Font this is all about 6 Font. But yes we got one so i think you have been told porkies. No quick start guide though.

No Service History book told that is all online now.

Did it come with a full size book back holder? a really small one? or were all the booklets loose?

It came with a proper full size wallet holder - which is what's made me continue to wonder.
We got a black 'fabric; type wallet with stitching - not particularly substantial/but flimsy (not mine copied from web)

James, you know about these things. If I were to go back to the dealer and explain that I would like a manual, how hard/expensive would it be for them to sort it out?

Realistically, it should be of minimal inconvenience and cost to them. They could easily borrow one from another vehicle to make you happy.

That's how my Ateca came in 2016. Just a few pages. You download the pdf. Have phablet so have them downloaded to that plus the Erwin manuals. Can always have a good read wherever I am if need be.

Manuals and brochures went the same way a few years back (10 or so). Online. Might be that Cupra give them you in a presentation gold case but probably not 😉. Gold edged pages 🤣. Seat drivers PDF.

Thanks - I was hoping that would be the case.
Probably why you haven't got one since the one missing was borrowed from your car 😉. I did have a wing mirror borrowed from another dealer car when they broke mine fixing the build fault of the heater element connection being not clicked into home. The car got it's mirror back and I got a new correct mirror for the car once it came in. They do, do the borrow thing from the forecourt.

Perhaps with a Cupra you get a shiny manual and Seat nothing. Just the service book in that wallet posted above. We are expected to read the PDF... that you wade through during the 5 month delivery cycle.

Someone "borrowing" the manual was exactly my thought too.

So there are 3 things in that folder, full fat booklet, quick user manual few pages I think, and certificate of conformity 2 pages basically, that is a technical document related to your car with VIN number, it has all the codes what type of gear box , engine model etc.

We only got the full fat booklet, nothing else.

Well when I traded my Q3 2020 I gave all the stuff which came with the car which was again booklet, conformity certificate etc..
So probably the previous owners if car is second hand didnt bother giving it back with car or might have lost it during their ownership or car while changing hands in between till it reaches to next potential buyer.

Seat back in 2016 didnt give fat books out they were out of fashion. Reckon it's Cupra folk that get the full RR treatment.

Manuals you downloaded. Read the VIN off the windscreen and access erWin to print out the build codes and technical manuals. You got everything you would ever want in there. You have to register as a business customer these days, but easy enough. Buy a couple of hours of Internet access. 15€s or so and you got the lot. Service manuals etc to resolve what the manufacturer really says about services verses the minimumalist services plans which leave items out.

Reckon its Cupra folk that get stroked having paid a premium for their vehicle with all the mod cons with that wallet with or without missing pages.
