Hi everyone!

Ok, I've been running P ZEROS's on my cupra since i got the thing from SEAT and have had nothing but trouble![:@]

1.) They wear like 50p's so once u get up to motorway speeds the thing rattles like mad! SEAT checked this as i thuoght it was something else and they said it was the tyres....and it was. They said it was due to the amount of power the front wheels have to contend with and it is a problem on simillar cars, VXR's etc etc.

2.) Wet = Rubbish! i'd rather drive rlasses 1.2 fezzi when its raining!

3.) Winter! as soon as temp drops below 5c then the PZERO's seem to turn into blocks on concrete providing no grip whatso ever! I know they are a summer tyre but they shouldnt just drop off like that!

Having said all that, when its warm and dry and you've warmed them up a little...my god they are good! but it doesnt make up for the rest of the time when they are god awful!

So, has anyone got any tyre recomendations PS2's, F1's, potenzas etc that work well on a cupra?? Im mainly bothered about how they wear and the traction....im resigned to the fact that most performance tyres will be crap in winter. (especially those of you who are pushing 300bhp, would be good to hear what tyres you are running).

Ta
Matt

I had them on my Ibiza fr tdi and then on my leon and they are awful! I just drove harder and wore them out quicker than i normally would just so i could get some new tyres.

Dont know what i would reccomend as the power toyour wheels will be far greater

Yup, they are a pain of a tyre! anyone else with a cupra and swapped pzero's for something better?

im going to stick some 19" BBS Ch black's on it so do they do a size to fit that? Ive heard good things about the F1's. Anyone had pilotsports on?

Haha. My summer wheels are 18s, so at least I can console myself with the drastically cheaper tyre prices :p

Sibbo, see my response above re Conti's ...you would not really need to go for 91Z rating (normally 91Y ok) but a big stock shortage of 91Y in UK I hear.

Not tried Pilot Super Sports, supposed to be very good but even dearer than the Conti 5's!

I had P-Zero's on a previous car and didn't like them one bit.

I would consider VREDESTEIN tyres, particullary the SESSANTA tyre as it gets very good reviews and there are quite a few Cupra owners on here which use them.

I got a set for the front in the summer and got them fitted in October, but then the cold/ snowy weather hit the UK ! They are not good in the snow, but summers aren't anyway.

I won't be putting the SESSANTA's back on until March (currently using winter tyres) but I bought them based on other users positive comments...

None of the sites have stock listed in this country (or on mytyres) - maybe it'll be out by the summer? See this.

Happy for you to prove me wrong with a link as I'll get some! :D

its true the tyre hasnt been officialy released in that size but for Continental to put it into January's price list means that they have every intention of releasing it and id imagine very soon

il let you know as soon as its available ;)

Yup and i dont expect them to be good in winter. I expect them to grip in the wet which these dont and as for them wearing like 50p's. Nothing to do with winter driving as the problem has arisen twice, both in summer months and have spoken to 2 different tyre garages who both said that they dont recomend Pirelli because of the uneven wear.

As for the reason why i use them in the winter.......4 new tyres is quite a lot of money for 4 months of use, not stupid my friend, just not made of money

Ah, cool. Glad they'll be bringing the size to the UK. :D

I am very pleased with my vrestein ultrac sessanta's ... sorry about spelling...

In the dry they are amazing... wet they are very good... and in winter they were the best ive had so far...and not too expensive.
