Just wondering, those who've painted badges so far, when sanding down, did you sand back to bare plastic or just rough up the surface.

Only ask as i'm doing my front one and just spent an hour and a bit sanding it back to bare plastic and thought i'm not sure if i cba doing it all again for the rear one.

Probably too much haha or because i'm a bit of a perfectionist and didn't like seeing marks on them.

Either way i re-did it enough lmao.

Noticed there were some obvious scratch marks even after the second primer coat so sanded back again and then used some 800 between coats and it's looking much better, thanks char :)

Ok, second daft question, I've got a can of high temp clear paint, will it do the same job as lacquer or do I need another trip to halfords?

Typical, the bits of my car i want to come apart easily, don't.
Snapped the insert on the rear badge trying to get it off the shiny bit :( hopefully a spot of superglue and a dab of paint and it'll not be noticeable, but still :(

Put the car back together last night, trashed my thumb on those mushroom clips things on the front grill but it's good to know it won't fall off anytime soon.

Dropped my spoiler off to be painted last night too, so that should be done by monday when i get back from Holland :)

Was going to do the IBIZA letters in white a la char, but now i've put the white boot handle back on i think it might be overkill on the white considering the spoiler will have white tips too and might look better being debadged?

That looks really good! NIce job.

I think you shoudl do the letters in white too. Don't think its too much as it would match it perfectly.

I'd really like to do my boot handle in white or black but think i would really end up breaking it trying to remove it or get it back in.
