Painting brake calipers

I used Hammerite Smooth spray and the finish is better than the cupra factory finish red calipers.

Use the brakes as if you're bedding new pads in for a week otherwise Hammerite can melt before it hardens fully

i used halfords caliper paint on the frount callipers and used hammerite on the back drums about ayear and a half ago and just freshed them up couple of weeks ago. was not any difference would say that both paints were simmiler tbh.

hmm ok il try the halfords stuff and see how it goes then next time maybe try hammerite

the foliatec kit is good, comes with caliper cleaner etc, looks the bizznizz!

I did a thread on this for a leon cupra and to be honest you dont need to take anything but the wheel off, just make sure you mask up everything else if your not confident with a paint brush. its very easy and if you use the right stuff it looks very good indeed

I take it to use the hammerite spray you would need to take the caliper off? Wouldnt want overspray everywhere....

Not if you use Hammerite, it doesn't need lacquering.

Other paints may need lacquering. Generally lacquering is better as it provides gloss and protects, but on Hammerite you don't use it.
