Painting Rocker Cover and Inlet Mani

Hi all, I want to paint my Rocker cover and Inlet Manifold in a certain colour but I can't get it in high temp paint

Would it work with normal spray paint then high temp laquar???

If not ill have to get a close match in high temp!!

ive done about 4 cars mate and never used high temp paint. good results with tommy2008cupra

had mine powdercoated much easier than doin it youself and i work in a bodyshop!!! have a look in the 'whats under your hood' thread find some inspiration there and what methods people used

my next job, easier than getting them polished

ive done loads of rocker covers for previous cars ive had, my last one i just used halfords spray paint and dint even use lacquer and was still fine 1 year on

I cleaned it and sanded right down removing the casting marks etc.

More sanding the better finish you get just like painting anything.

STUPID QUESTION I NO BUT CAN U JUST REMOVE THE ROCKER COVER WOULD I NEED A NEW GASKET? SAME FOR INLET WOULD I NEED A NEW GASKET OR AM I LIABLE TO BREAK SUMMIN OR MAKE A LIGHT POP UP :confused:
ANY ONE KNOW IF THERES A GUIDE:whistle:

I could do a guide but it would mean removing my rocker cover again,

Just look at all the bolts holding the rocker cover on arounfd the edges remove, remove coilpacks and hose going to the rockercover passenger side and hey presto rocker cover removed.


A few capscrews holding the inlet on and also the TB is attached to the inlet .

fiddly part is the injectors and fuel rail being in the way.

You can get away with reusing th gaskets i did as they were in good condition.
