what do you all think about doing this, waste of time or effective little tweak?

thinking of painting mine white to go with the white car, was also considering green just to be a little bit crazy

Skoda use green and it does look good. White will be dirty in seconds due to the brake dust.

I'd say go for it. If you use the correct paint it will look good. Unpainted calipers soon fade and tarnish. Even if you paint them the same silver colour they will be easier to keep looking good. I'd go for it.

I used high temperature paint from Halfords and it was spot on on my 106 Quicksilver and Gti.

ah didnt think about the dirtieness, when i say green i mean really bright green, as i have drums on te back so there will be alot of green haha, either that or the more common red, but i like to be different thats why i bought a seat and not an astra for half the price

If I had drums on the back I'd paint them black and then do the fronts red. But its up to you.. thats the fun thing about modding your car. Its all about making it your own.

I agree with Mardon. Paint your drums black, try and hide the fact their drums. But the fronts need to be red, people's idea of red brakes are that they shout performance, yeah your painting them, but the red peeping through the black alloys will shout 4 itself. I have a Red Bocanegra with the standard brakes. I am going to upgrade my brakes but until I do, I'm painting them red.
