I’ve driven fewer miles in my current car in the 21 months I’ve owned it than I used to drive in a year. ‘Normal‘ weekly mileage for me is around 75 - 80 miles these days, so the high cost of fuel is less of an issue as fortunately I don’t need to visit the filling station very often .
Be sure to make good use of that free bus travel . I’m also retired but unfortunately not old enough yet to qualify for a concessionary bus pass.
I'm driving far fewer miles since the first Covid outbreak a couple of years ago - my monthly mileage is similar to yours at around 300-350 miles a month. Any distance of around five miles or less and if I don’t have heavy loads to carry I’ll walk these days rather than take the car - better for me and kinder to the environment .
