I have noticed that putting the car in reverse first thing in the morning, that the brakes don't want to let go. Is this a common issue on the 1.5 dsg? I do use the auto hold button, but unsure if this is the issue.

Thanks

Paul

My 2.0 litre VW Polo GTI+ with the 6 speed DQ250 DSG used to be the same if the brake discs had got wet on the journey before or if I’d just washed the car. It was the action of the brake pads bonding to the discs when a layer of oxidation forms on the discs from them getting wet. I’ve read on various VW Golf GTI forums of the same happening so I’d say it’s not just an issue with VAG’s 1.5 when coupled with DSG transmission. It’s not just a VAG thing either; I suspect it happens on most cars with electronic parking brake.

My current non-VAG car also does it if the discs have got wet but it’s not as noticeable as it was on my Polo.

I did notice it this morning, and the car had been washed yesterday.
Thanks for the reply
