Parrot Kit

Hi guys, apologies if this has been covered before, but:
I went to get a Parrot Kit fitted at my local car audio centre today but, after having the car all day, they've been unable to fit the Parrot! The problem is that they cant fit the mute box and all of the leads behind the radio, but are unable to remove any of the centre console or trim to be able to make room! There seems to be a huge void blow the radio, which they cant acces.
Has anyone fitted a Parrot to a MK2 Leon, if so, how, what did you remove, and where did you fit everything please?
The Parrot forum doesn't help.

Hi,

I had a parrot kit fitted and no problems behind the dash. I did have to have a new radio by seat and they did say it is very tight!!

Only thing is the front of my stereo sits forward approx 3 mm

i have the parrot fitted.

i located the mute box behind the side pannel of the gearbox. the panel just pops of and back on again.

the wires i run over to the bottom stearing column and then down to the mute box.

@ marsden1002 - what do you mean you needed a new radio?

just when i fitted my parrot the radio wored fine until it was fully pushed in then stopped. seat are currently getting me a replacement

My local Halfords fitted a Parrot MK6100 without any problems.

halfraud damaged all the sourounding area, and was told you couldnt buy the trim for the radio, so a new radio was fitted by Seat, Paid by Halfrauds!

my mute box is behind the stereo.....crammed down to the left i think. the big blue box is undder where my hazard light button is. theres loads of room under there.

Picked up my leon on monday it has a Parrot kit already in it, i can't really help with the mute box sorry.

my car audio shop fitted my parrot along with my pioneer sat nab unit which has loads of gubbins with it fine! iirc the glovebox came out to make access easier and there is a lot of space behind there apparently!
try a different fitter as they sound like cowboys if they can't get this done right

hmmm my stereo doesnt come up with 'phone' when i get / make a call. i must have got the wrong mute wire when i installed it..... mite look into that if i get a spare weekend.
