Hi all. I have ibiza gti 2.0 8v. Looking for parts in Australia is hard as hell.
I would to confirm that this motor is the same as the onefo7nd in the vw polo or golf.
I am needing specs on the car as well (will look in treads just incase).
Hope someone can help me out

Maybe try looking up this VAG parts catalogue:-

http://etka.cc/

http://partscatalog.info/

Probably both are the same, or should be, takes a bit of getting used to but handy for working out what you are looking for. (handy when buying parts from ebay etc as you know when you have exactly the right part by its part number)

Remember "same" engine in different car might mean it gets a different "version" code due to maybe different manifolds etc due to installation, but maybe you know that already - though I could be wrong if the engine "version" code is for a bare engine.

Good luck!

Front end is all MK3 Golf - motor, gearbox, suspension. Rear end is Polo.

Everything is interchangeable so you shouldn't have any problems finding parts.

Where in Oz are you?

What parts are you after?

I've got a 16v Cupra for spares as well as another as my daily and I'm thinking of buying a 8v GTI for parts so might be able to help you out.

I'm down near Canberra.

Cheers

Sad to hear.

You need a Cupra to fill in the gap. :D
