passengerside window wont open

just picked up 02 seat ibiza cupra, but the passenger side window wont open, with either of the swithces.

any ideas why? do they have any kind of switch to stop them opening or summat?

well luckily he has a years warrenty!!

as the boys have said its probably not a faulty switch as one side would probably work, worth checking though if you can lend a switch off someone.

Pretty certain it'll be the motor.. whip the door cards off and get the multimeter out...

and when your banging the popclips back on to refit the doorcard make sure you dont smack it too close to the speaker grill and crack the plastic like i did lol doh its really delicate around that area so be careful!

but if he's got warranty still wouldn't it be easier and cheaper just to take it to SEAT?

exactly,the guys only just bought this car and picked it up yesterday!!
last thing he wants is to mess about with removing the door cards...i ****ed my speaker grill up after owning my car for 4months!

the only thing wrong with suspecting the motor is that he said theres no play at all, but as he hasnt ever seen it work he has no idea whether its faded over time or suddenly just stopped suggesting it could be anything...but as he said to me on msn he's tried both door switches, so its unlikely to be them

so take it back to seat mate, even if it turns out to be simple, it'll give u peace of mind

did u get anyluck with the dash lights?

no luck with the light, i duno what caused it, i wish i didnt put to boost guage on now

will take car back 2moro and tell them about window

I didn't realised it had a warranty or that he'd bought it from Seat..

I'd take it back too if that's the case
