pauter rods

been meaning to ask this since they turned up and i doubt it very much but here goes

they came with a note in the box basicly saying that on some engines the rod will just hit the bottom of the cylinder wall and you will need to machine a small clearance path for the rod

anyone know if i will need to on a 1.8t?

Yeah mine has now gone. Iam abit upset about it really, but it needed to be done, a guy called Derrick of this site bought it, just hope he enjoys it and looks after it.
