PCV Fix - Catch tank or vacuum blank?

Just round the corner.
My car is currently idling like a bag of 5hit! I've changed the oil / plugs and replaced coil pack, but she still has an erratic idle, not as bad, but I want her running sweet again.

From what I have found through various sites I have two options.

Oil catch tank (either BSH or Forge)

BSH PCV fix vacuum blank.

Which is advisable?

Thanks.

Alright mate been looking at this myself. My idle is fine but on high boost ie 22 on boost gauge I bleed boost away and lose some power. I have preesure tested all pipework and intercooler and all is fine so suspect pcv.
Anyway I had a bsh catch can and removed it and sold it as I could smell oil vapour and had no leaks and found it annoying.
The pcv fix I am unsure on as where does the that pressure go from the blanked off pipes?
I was going to install a eurojet pcv fix which just puts a strong one way valve in the pipe to the inlet manifold this stopping you losing pressure.
Can't find any in UK and ECS tuning want a fortune on shipping.
If you were going the same way as me and find any we could share postage etc?
Also Mark if you unclip your pcv from the manifold and put your finger over the manifold does it idle smooth?
Cheers Kev

The one way valve in the pcv system can break allowing the engine to run lean. you can now buy a standard revised part which doesnt suffer from the same issue.

I have the same problem at the moment with 50 000km on the clock. The car is currently waiting for parts to be replaced under warranty. its the most annoying sound in the world to be honest. I am having my cam followers replaced and a few other things hoping that this sorts it out. Some guys i know have gone with the BSH PCV and it has been working. I will be fitting that once i get the car sorted.

post your fix here so I can track and see if it will work for me as well.

if your going to uprate the pcv then make sure you check the rear one (silver tube) depending on the part number they either have a check valve in it or not...MY06 did not have a check valve so the new pcv that i brought did not work

Checked around the PCV, but couldn't see a silver tube. Where abouts would it be?

Pretty sure you can tell by the part number of your front pcv.
Like mine is a F Revision part and has 2 check valves in so doesn't have a valve in the rear pipe.

Unsure mate either check what number you have on your front pcv its underneath it. then we might know if its got 1 valve or 2 the rev L only has one valve in it
Or bite the bullet and buy a front and rear pcv although I thinkt the rear one is awkward to fit.
Or buy a forge catch can at £300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I used to have a bsh and wasn't that impressed but the forge one is so expensive.

Well picked up the revised pcv valve. The latest revision is 06F129101N.

The newest one is the bottom one (with the valve)

Before fitting the replacement.

Took 5 minutes to change, and the verdict!...............Has made no difference! Still hunting / misfiring slightly.
Will have to get hooked upto Vagcom, to see if there are any fault codes.

Mark what part number is your old one?
If your new one is not the right one it may still be the problem.
Did you try taking the pipe off the manifold and putting your finger over the end of the manifold to check it sorted your problem?

Take the plastic corrigated pipe off at the manifold (the one that runs from your pcv forward to the manifold) put your finger over the manifold not the pipe and see if your idle sorts out.
I just checked that N valve replaces letters C, F, K, L just an idea
