PD160 intake mod alternative?

I'm struggling to find a PD160 intake hose for less than £60-£70, it's such a lot to pay for what it actually is and the minimal difference it will actually make. So I'm wondering if there are any cheaper alternatives, or anything I should do instead which might even be better if I'm gonna be spending that much?

Custom like I made using the pipe that comes from the maff sensor to the metal intake pipe it's alot cheeper bits its a stretch to fit over the intake on the bumper and over the air filter box intake hole but it does go

Just looked at your progress thread, what do you think of the Jetex cone filter? As I have been put off from open cone filters as I've heard they can take in warm air and you'd be better off with the standard air box with a K&N/Green filter. Also how is the sound?

It's all personal preffrance to behonest heat soak on a tdi is diffrent to what it is on a petrol and if ur running a front intercooler heat soak ain't a worry
