Petrol/Diesel Front Bumper-are they different

I am currently looking for a front bumper for my tdi and my question is - will a petrol car front bumper fit my TDI and/or can it be modified to fit ??
It would obviously be easier to find a petrol bumper in the right colour LOL

When i was looking at buying my leon, (diesel) i looked at both, never noticed any difference.

Thanks...I am asking really because of the TDI intercooler,I dont mind modifying a petrol bumper as long as it is feasible (if it needs it obviously)
They look the same externally - but just wondering if any different internally!

The TDI and 1.8t(pre-facelift) have a cut out where the intercooler is, if you get a bumper off a lower model petrol car then all you'll need to do really is cut the vent out of the lower part of the bumper.

Just been down to have a look at my bumper - yes I can see that a cooling slot has been cut into the lower bumper (not very tidy) !!

baz, post some pics up of the cut out area and i will have a look at mine to see if i can see any differences.

the lower lip of the diesel bumper has a little cut out to allow for airflow other than that cant see much difference.
