Pioneer Sat Nav= Bluetooth issues= Iphone 5c

Ive just bought a 2011 SE Tech with the Pioneer sat nav and whilst I prefer the look of the OEM one, I like the functionality of the Pioneer unit. Everything is good, except pairing my iPhone 5c. It pairs ok, streams music and makes phone calls, HOWEVER, when calls are answered, no-one can hear me! Ive tried my iPhone 5c which isn't listed as supported and an iPhone 4 which is listed as supported with the same result. The radio level stays the same when a call is made so I'm wondering could the hands free mic be the problem. Has anyone any ideas?

Have you looked at the mute settings in the audio options?

Turns out its a duff microphone! The simplest answers are the best!
