Plastic engine covers?

Hi just a quick question,

My dads brand new Altea 2.0tdi DSG arrived this week, but it has no plastic engine cover, the mounts are there but no cover. The dealer said there isnt meant to be one. Should there be one???

If you searched the forums first you would have found numerous posts regarding engine covers. A lot of new SEATS now come without an engine cover. For some engines you can get them at extra cost, other engines they are not available at all

Good decision on the model, will you be changing his speakers for him .

Thought the speakers sounded ok, he only listens to radio 2 anyway so doubt hes too worried!

My Dads just got the new FR and this has a cover, when I brought my 2.0TDI Sport I found no engine cover just mounting points I went back to dealer and gave me one for free should come as standard I think.

Some cars NEED the engine cover as it houses the air filter assembly.

Such as the 2.0TFSI engine.

Get on to your dealer!! Only the Altea 1.6 & 1.9 TDI dont come with covers anymore. 2.0 TDI & TFSI & FR all come with covers.
