yeah point taken its not as though i do it often in fact prob the first time but now i know wont be doing it again thank you mork!
sounds like you've not got much argument for a refund there mate , i mean 40 horses extra for each one, thats an extra 80 bhp for about 15 quid, absolutely fan-feckin-tastic bang for your buck. fnar fnar.

Well i wouldnt say fellow devote, im driving an un common artic silver leon not common black, blah blah blah!!
ooh get her ! i bought black cos its a challenge to keep clean, not like silver where you can never quite tell whether its been through a car wash or a big dirty great puddle. titter titter

Well, bitchin' aside, I would like to know the real cause for this...
As a guess, I'd say the ECU program is only written to deal with so much engine timing for a given model, so if you exceed what the car is expected to achieve realistically then maybe the program cuts out and reverts to forcing your engine into something more mundane to prevent damage and then gets reset when you turn the engine on and off.
Just a guess!! Ask a dealer (not the one you go to).

yeah you've got to be carefull who you have a laugh with though, theres no accounting for some folks sense of humour. i've got previous experience of that myself on another site.
