Please help!! just incase!!

hey all who read this,i have a question which hopefully you can either give me peace of mind or worry the sh*t out of me!!

Was driving down a private road, in a private town, in the morning so i thought id try to see what top end i can get??

Well driving along i got to 148mph then car seemed to POP?? lost power so i pulled over and the car sat there fine ticking over but when i tried to rev it, it went up to 2000rpm and then died back down to idle??

I then let it cool down after a couple of mins turned it off and turned it back on again, then it revved fine no probs!!

So is this what they call "gimp mode" as ive never had this before and am now worried when i put my foot down it will lose power again??

Any help greatly wanted and if you need to know anything else please ask as i want to make sure i can still drive it safely!!

Sounds like the ECU shut you down cause you were being a gimp...

ok then ! Ring mike and ask him if the settings need adjusting? sounds like limp mode Rob might be worth while

your ecu will put your car into limp mode, mine used to do it due to overboosting slightly at high revs, (getting more actual boost than requested) i got the map tweaked and it hasn't done it since,

although my car also went into limp mode when the intake temps were 95 degrees, a Shiny FMIC sorted that one out,

i'm not sure that you could get much more than 148mph out of a leon mate , even with your poppy corral on full boost.

are you sure one of your hoses hasnt popped off cos i could still drive mine very slowly like after one of the hoses popped off but mine popped off doing 60 not 148

getting to 148 will have meant extended time at high load - so inlet temps will have soared.

ah i see now what your getting at thanx all the above who helped, hoses are all good, and no leaks to my knowledge but from what mork says that sounds good to me was warm etc!!

i'm not sure that you could get much more than 148mph out of a leon mate , even with your poppy corral on full boost.

But ive got two of them now?? thats bloody charming think ill get a refund on them??
