I dont know if they are bought as they are or people are polishing them themselves.
Alot of sanding will pollish them up just need to step down the grades and get ride od all the scratches between coats.

You can always just take yours off and send it away to be mirror polished by the likes of : http://www.liquidmetalrefinement.co.uk/ or http://pureklas.co.uk/ even have it chromed, which is alot more durable.

Mine's a D.K jobbie and I'm delighted with it.
