Polo cage: Would it fit?

The way show cages are talked about its as if you have a load of spikes pointing at you?

There thick aluminium bars which will crumple on impact not disintegrate into spikes and come rushing at you. Most show cages are mounted in the same way as real cages i.e. welded/bolted to things.

Surely you could get a real cage polished up like a show cage?

the way i see it is that it is just more things to hit your head, neck, leg, arm ect on if you do crash(touches wood), the driver might not be effected but the passengers in the back might be at risk.

proper roll cages are padded and the drivers wear helmets because off the danger off hitting the roll cage in a crash, so if you are going to do it properly then you would have to cover your shiney cage with padding and wear a helmet!!! defeats the purpose!!!

that is only in my opinion tho:p

If you're going to the effort of fitting 'a cage' it may as well be a proper one and have done with it, have never understood the need for a show cage other than somthing else to polish other than tailpipes or bling rims.

Its also worth noting that many years ago Aluminium roll cages were common in competition/racing cars until they were banned becuase the structure would degrade in strength over time....

And just becuase its going inn a road car means you cant have an accident....

fatal flaw. most show caged cars just have the 'show' cage wedged in.

Here's a photo of the fit of the cage

But if you want it to fit properly, like below:

Then a bracket will need to be made, was gonna get it sprayed white but not gonna bother now and I know a lot of you would abuse me and make my cry lol.

i want white wheels and a white cage, purple and white is the theme

go for it matey

I would but I have been doing a few track days/sessions when I can so I'm thinking roll cage or no cage. Meaning if I fit a cage I'm better off with a roll cage than a show cage.... plus I know a few people on here who would abuse me for a show cage lol.

You can't spend all that time on a rally slag car then let yourself down with a show cage man, go the whole hog you know you want to deep down!!!

All or nothing with cages really, I've never liked the idea of a show cage in an accident!!

If I could find a company that'd build/modify one to go from turret to turret & through the speaker holes in the dash it'd be one of the first things on my list, stiffen up the shell a treat and may save my life when some 4ft 2" troph wife wipes me out in her Chelsea tractor cause she can't see over the steering wheel!!

Plus looks the muts nuts!!

no but i dont go anywhere quick.... yes i know ir can still roll but it is less likely ig i am not driving at stupid speeds. which is what i dont do.

All i wanted to know was where to get them from. its personal preference as to which sort of cage you like abd i like show cages and if that means if i roll it then the car if ****ed then that is how it will be. Do you know where you can get them from or did you come on here to start an argueement about it
