WOT shifting and 2 step will help steve ;)

Im really thinking about one of those! Not for anti lag but WOT shifting maybe..
Can anyone confirm does the mk3 ibiza cupra have the clutch pedal sensor thing that is needed to wire up the WOT box?

Also I only have inconel valves and new OEM springs and retainers... what is best revs for me??

Thanks guys..

engines rebuilt, new rings etc and new garrett gt3076r is on but when they fired it up there's oil escaping from the centre of the turbo:doh:so who knows when i'll be up and running properly:cry:let us know if you plan on going again as it would be good to meet up again and to see your car in action:)oh and hitting the limiter.

Cheers Caney,
I think I am losing a fair bit of oil, I have to top up the oil every couple of days, whenever I check it its right a the end tip of the dipstick, fill it up next day its gone!
I do see a fair bit of smoke under full boost, but I cant really tell what colour it is, doesnt look like thick smoke tho..
I have a oil cooler, so I assume you would fill up oil as usual and then once the thermostat opens, the cooler will get oil then check the level again and top up to the right amount?
I dont know if I get wrong readings because of the cooler taking up oil?

Oh and I used 10w30 mobil semi syn, but I want to use mobil1 5w30 I think it is, so can I just drain and fill or should I completely drain the cooler etc so they dont mix?

Thanks!

did you fit new pistons?if so you are supposed to use a mineral oil to bed the rings in.if you don't which i've found out to my cost you will glaze the bores, rings don't bed in and you will drink oil for fun!i would use 1/2 litre of oil doing 5 or 6 drag runs plus the 100 mile round trip to the pod!my car never smoked either, only way to solve this is to re-hone the bores and fit new rings:cry:my cylinder walls were like mirrors, you could see your face in them!

Ah, the engine has all new internals & was run on mineral oil after it was built, it had done 2800miles in a A3 running fine then went in my polo so I hope thats not my problem!
Its since I have drained and filled the oil and added the cooler I dont know how much oil I have put in as I lost alot on leaks I had like forgetting to connect the oil cooler lines and oil splattered everywhere!
I assumed that my oil looks low on the dipstick because its in the oil cooler as its lower than the filter so gravity wont take it back to the sump, so I never topped up much being scared i might be over filling!
Think I need to drain the engine and cooler and put in 4.6ltrs and fill the cooler and lines with oil and see what if i lose oil.

I sound like I know nothing about engines!
But I did know about using mineral oil once engine been re-built, just wasnt sure whats best after..
15W50 it is!...Can I mix with my old semi oil then? I have no idea why I even used semi:confused:

just leave sump plug out for 30mins to drain the most of the oil off.

dont worry about how much oil you put in. just make sure it reads right on the dipstick

All done! 15w50 Oil put the whole 5ltrs in.
Changed coolant and gearbox oil aswell, using redline, the guy who fitted my diff used carlube?!

Also I changed my W/G spring from 0.9bar to 1.2bar, and now the car seems awake! Can hear the turbo now over the exhaust and it spools quicker im sure.. its holding 1.34bar with controller off
Found out the apexi duty will be maxed out with the 0.9bar spring if im looking for the magic 450- thanks Bill!

Was soo looking forward to getting the car at JBS this monday but they rang me and made me change to the 27th as James is going away :(

And to make things worse my AEM gauge stopped working, had to send it to the U.S, so no keeping an eye on A/F's either!

i know it's not mapped properly yet but at what rpm are you seeing a bar of boost?

Not sure exactly but its quick, i tell u this doesnt feel like a BT at all in 1,2 and 3..
Im holding 1.3-4bar boost now and it comes quick, I will take a video clip of the apexi on revs and boost today...

Hi Caney, didnt get to record a clip but I got 1.05bar boost @ 3700rpm and between that and 4500 it build up boost very quick..

I wonder if the boost controller can aid spool up, not too clued up with the apexi duty cycles etc.etc.

I thought I have a 1.2bar spring but I seen 1.6bar at 6700rpm:funk: so guess its too strong but think im going to keep it on will help keep stable boost.

Quick update guys..
Cars been giving me no end of hassles in the last 3days... Just before it goes for final mapping!
The car flies for how it is at the moment until I was on my way home and the car was leaning out bad and egt's much higher than usual..
Thought maybe its in safe mode but it cant limit my boost as no n75.

Then same day the fuel pump fuse blew out on me in the middle of town, changed it, thought everything is fine and drove off, went again in a very busy tunnel, police warned me if i dont get it moved asap they will move it and I have to pay costs..
Bridged the fuse connection so I can drive to a safe place and got AA to take me home :(

Thought it was my fuel pump relay as I got soo many short to ground fault codes.
Got a new relay, problem still there keeps blowing fuel pump fuse and same codes..

Well in the end I purchased a new bosch 044 pump as it was noisy and the car was leaning out.
Changed pump... problem still there :(
It was the s3 intank pump which was failing (only 1yr old!) so I had to make a mission to go get it if I wanted same day! Thanks Bill for your advise while I was there!!
Well I changed it asap as it was ment to be at JBS 9am on Monday, started car and guess what.. same problem, fuse kept blowing out!
Had to do a continuity test on everything, took absolutly ages!
In the end it was my harness shorting out as it was rubbing on the engine-mount & faulty pump at same time..oops!!

Sorted it after ages in the rain and dropped it JBS today at 4pm :)

Should have it back tomorrow or day after I hope!!

Will have Dyno print out soon!

THanks everybody!

Have a read of this regarding the avc-r

Nice bit of kit as long as you make use of the features.

Yeah they are really good, not too clued up on the learn gear stuff, need to get with it!

When I had the 0.9bar spring in with the avcr off it would stay at 0.9 to 6k..

I put in a 1.2bar spring, with AVCR off, EWG opens at 1.2-1.3bar but boost builds up... 1.5bar at 4800rpm and holding 1.6bar to 7200....

That cant be boost surge right guys??

Could it be the gases cant escape quick enough out the WG or is the setup running efficient hence holding more boost??

boost creep if its producing more boost than actuator... or stickign actuator.

thats why I port the exhaust housings to eliminate this kind of thing. had the same thing myself on my 1st fp green exhaust housing.
