Hey guys a newbie here, been lurkin for a couple of weeks now absorbin the great info on the forum. most instrumental in me buying my new motor.

Just picked her up today, a 02 beeza tdi sport in imperial blue, very nice!!!!!!

Only problem is that the brakes are proper pants at slow speeds, they are looser than a loose thing below 20 odd mph and take for adges to pull up. olmost dangerous. thought initially ot was due to it being off the road in the garage over the christmas period, but they doo pull up well at speed..

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers guys

Heres to many years happy motoring in the mk3 beeza club

take the car to kwik fit

they do a free brake inspection and can diagnose faults

once you know what the problem is you can either get them to do it or do it yourself

be warned though, if the brakes are found to be not road legal they can stop you from taking it away until it is fixed
or make you tow it away

god luck

cheers m8t, theres plenty of meat still left on the pads and the disks are in pretty good shape still. problem is that the pedal goes very hadr when braking at slow speeds, and if you push really hard you feel the abs kicking in, tho it is very far from a sharp pull up!!!

not gonna put her on the road till the end of the month, but would like her to be perfect b4 then.

as i said its starnge coz the brakes are cracking if you touch them at higher speeds!!!!

AHH ! could be your brake servo or pipe to it

switch off engine

pump brakes like mad until the servo has no vac left in it and the pedal goes hard

then push brake pedal

then start your engine

the pedal should go down a bit as the servo starts to work if not then you have little or no servo assistance

BTW the mk3 had a recall on the brake servo hose I think

cheers nathwarr, I'll try this a little later.
the car has a full Seat dealer service history!!!! when was the recall, and is it just a matter of calling into the dealer an informing them of the recall. do they pay for the labour to!?!?!!?! is the part itself expensive? or hard to fit?

cheers again
