Any updates Mr Spark ?

There is indeed actually, the turbo has started to not kick in till later and later, and now seems stuck at 3k instead of 2k. So everything that should happen between 1.5k to 2.5k is happening at 2.5k to 3.5k this has happened before and ended up being a sticking turbo vain from what I can remember, but last time I wasnt down on power, just the power didnt kick in till later? weird!

Anyway, after driving it a far few miles the turbo last night started spooling at its usual RPM and everything seemed fine on the car, minus its down on power by 20bhp and the gearbox is still as stiff as a 17 year old lad looking at the top shelf in the corner shop.

Turbo is knackered FACT. So even tho its in warrenty, im thinking of just uprating the damn thing, that should sort out the loss of power and rpm problem.

Gearbox - No idea still, gunna try the oil change see if that helps

Judder - Again still no idea, clutch bites fine, would the flywheel be knackered but the clutch be perfect?

I know what i'd do ... get the turbo under warranty then swap it straight out in A1 condition for an uprated one :)

And do what with the standard turbo?

On a side note, my car decided to go into gimp mode a few days ago on my way to work, and then today the engine light has popped on and the car is having a huge FREAK out and wont boost, but then does.. and on, off, on off! Great fun!

Ive run VAG-COM and as before it came up with a negative boost deviation which was intermittent.. meaning as far as past memory servers me, a sticking turbo vain.

But the interesting thing was it also added a new error, which unlike before might explain the loss of power.

Before, when my turbo started doing this, once it was open and I was giving it some juice it was running full power, aka 180bhp give or take, but as said it downs 20bhp this might be due to the error of "blah blah manifold is buggered" which was also intermittent!? I dont have the log as it didnt copy to my portable HDD, and is now half way across S. Yorks on a laptop, but will be posted tomorrow..

Interesting...

Sell the standard new turbo to someone.

To the judder question, yes the DMF can be knackered and juddering even though the clutch is fine. Can you here any rumbling kind of noises with the clutch up that dissappear when the clutch is pressed, If so then DMF has gone.

We've had the DMF on vans at work spit the springs out of the side of the DMF and lock the engine, the clutch has still been fine and uncontaminated on those, Just to give an idea of durability.

Thanks for the info d00d, there doesnt seem to be any rumbling with the clutch up, but then again if there was I probs wouldnt be able to hear it over the exhaust as that rumbels (sp!?) within its self,

VAG-COM log to follow tomorrow guys, watch this space

Night!

So thats the problem with the manifold, but the turbo is stuff stuffed isnt it!

It's quite possible that a lot of problems could stem from dodgy readings from the MAP sensor - be worth trying a new one of those first (or borrowing one from another car).
As I recall though, they aren't that easy to get to on the Ibiza, they fit in the top of the intercooler.
If you're running a FMIC then I guess it's somewhere in the new pipework

I am running FMIC, hmmm could be knackered after loads of oil running into it after the turbo blow up a few months ago...

Expensive fix?

Just claim it was a Friday afternoon car! Take the 'ring stickers of aswell.

Try a different dealership too - not your regular one even if it means going further. They probably wont remember your car and you might get away with it!
