that when i change from reverse to 1st gear that there is a pop/click type noise, i've only just noticed it. i usualy have my i-pod on before i move off but didn't have it on on heard it, i had my windows down too.
anyone know if this is standard or should i be taking it to a garage?
if it is actually when you change direction it might be the pads moving in the calipers - normal. if it is when you move the gearstick out of reverse, it is probably just the gear linkage your hearing - normal.
if it is worrying you though it may be worth having a mechanic listen to the noise just to reassure you.
this morning the noise went away but the as i was pulling away from work 1st to 2nd gear as i put my foot on the gas i heard it then? is it the gas valve opening i can hear? (sorry not too mechanically minded)
