You'll have to listen closely but can anyone explain what this noise is on idle , not all the time can literally be sat 5 mins then it starts making it , or can do for a few seconds stop a few then do it again sounds like a popcorn machine, if I rev a bit it goes away. Any help appreciated

Is there a warning light on the dash?
its hard to diagnose from a video but sounds like the engine isn’t timing up properly or the tensioner has failed

No warning lights, car drives spot on sometimes when I come to a stop and it's idling it is absolutely fine other times it's making the noise straight away so it's intermittent, it's not the clutch/ flywheel as they were changed fairly recently brand new , it makes no difference dipping the clutch noise still there

I had a noise which was similar but was faster paced than yours, sounded like it was coming from the pedals area, turned out to be fuel line rattle under the plastic cover under the car. Couldn't hear it outside but could inside and always heard it from a cold start when revs were higher then came and went.
Had someone bounce the throttle as I was underneath with the cover off to pinpoint where it was.
