Is it just me or is anyone else experiencing this same thing?

In Sport i get the DSG farts and the pops and bangs on downshift way more than Cupra Mode.

Is it because the sound actuator is quieter in sports mode so you're hearing it easier? nothing changes on the engine when you change modes except for throttle response and sound actuator, you get no more power in any mode

Same on my 70 reg. Definitely seems to pop more in sport on downshift than in cupra. Could be the soundaktor drowning it out a little but even on lower rev downshifts when the soundaktor doesn't really kick in you can notice.

So I coded out the actuator completely, and while I notice there's not particularly more pops in one mode or the other, the sports mode definitely has the louder exhaust while accelerating.

Yeh definitely, the exhaust sound is just different and for me the pop and bangs are loud with the window open, Not from sound generator.

This is also true on the Ateca. It's not advertised but there's a few YouTube videos where people have discovered it. I can confirm more pops & bangs in sport mode (no idea why).

With the DSG shifter in S the pops and bangs are comparable between sport and cupra. The only noticeable difference is the level of the sound acktor on the inside. The sound acktor definitely disguises the sounds on the inside.
