Not sure where you guys are servicing your cars but £400 for a cambelt and waterpump change? I bought all my bits (Cambelt, waterpump, tensioner, oil and filter) from the VW dealer and that was about £150 and then the labour to fit was about £60. Cambelt and tensioner from VW was only something like £50-£80.

ohhhhh im still swithering what to do

the guy wont drop below 4k but is throwing in a set of oz alloys with it and i may get an mot out of it.

itll prob cost about 4-6 hundred to get it perfect.so say 4600 for a mint low milage cupra r

worth it?even 5k for a mint cupra r?think thats worth it too

its 4k hes after with a set of alloys also.

it needs-

the 60k service(as of earlier post)-parts £150 plus fitting
new tyres-vary in £££
new wing mirror-about 50 quid
tax-220 of something along those lines
mot-50 quid but he might chuck it in also

what do you think then?

haha thats what im saying too but me dads saying it aint worth that etc.i personally think it is but well wait and see tomorow.

anything i should look for or listen for?

I just got my water pump/cambelt done and paid £200 with genuine parts including labour, so
don't let that put you off too much. I'd only really be weary of hidden crash damage. Engines
are pretty damn strong in standard form. Lift up the boot carpet and look around that general area
for anything iffy or any evidence of repair/bent floor pan etc. Oh and the radiators are on the piss anyway lol, it looks odd when you see the rad at that angle.

im still so unsure

getting my loan finalised tomorrow so got the cash

i know a fair bit about cars like where to look for crash damage etc but its just the engine area i know fek all about

ill wait and see
