To be honest if I have the money then I'll get the Polo or Audi A1 with that engine, purely from a build quality point of view.
Who knows, maybe if Skoda do it too, anyways 3 years is a long time away!
For now I'm happy with my 1.2 it's quick enough and powerful enough for what I need and it costs about £250 per month all in to run.

yeah seat is not the best build quality! Well i am hoping to get a new car later on this year but dont think it will be new unless i get a significant pay rise which is not likely to happen in the foreseeable future.

How many miles do you do a month as i am about £220 per month on fuel and do roughly 1400 miles per month/350 per week

Those figures say 103 top speed, i've had 108 in mine (on a test track of course ;) )

If you change at 6K it seems quite rapid!

I've read somewhere though that the 1.2 out accelerates the 1.4 at first then the 1.4 closes in and has a better top end

thats between the 75bhp 1.4 and the 1.2 though

My milage fluctuates as I car share now so I'm not using the car every day. Also couldn't tell you my fuel spend and how often I fill up, best to click on the fuelly banner in my sig for that. My last two fill ups have been £60 each mind you!

I think quick cars are way safer if you drive them right!
I test drove the 2008 Corsa SRi which is supposed to be 7.6 to 62mph, i don't think it was cos it felt slow as hell but if your really into cars, once you've owned quick cars you just can't go back.
I don't usually spend £200per month on the Cupra. I pay insurance annually, it'd be about £45per month otherwise so about the same, i spend more in winter as i don't use the motorbike.
Our lass had a 2002 Yaris T-Sport and she didn't like the drop in acceleration when she got the 2008 Yaris D4D but she has got use to it. She still hates the crap brakes though! I think all cars these days should have rear disks, drums are useless! She's getting the Mk5 Cupra when hers is out of warranty. Mitsubishi Evo X for me next (maybe a bit of a wait though )!

115 downhill? Remember speedo readings will be out too.

I wonder how you can get 115 out of a 1.2 but I can only get 129mph (book) out of my FR Tdi.

I'm looking to spruce my exterior up on my 1.2, I'll spend money on it but not going overboard any suggestions just to make it look that little bit better?

You could change the aerial, change your bulbs to xeon (or a different colour) you could change your alloys.

You could also do small interior parts, like the tax disc holder lol

I dunno, i've managed 110 out of mine too (backed up by my tomtom) seems to be more than SEAT say it can go. I suppose some engines can be faster than they're meant to be, i've seen standard pd130s have 140hp without any mods before

Check my readers ride for ideas on mods if you like, i've done quite a bit of exterior work (namely bumpers etc) nothing internally bar the K&N panel filter and castrol edge oil (if that counts as a mod heh)

Well the alloys I'm happy with they standard ones looks tidy and what do you reckon real xenons or the bulbs you can get off eBay ha it's my first decent car and I just want it too look nice lol

Haha okay thanks for the idea though buddy I will see what I can do lol

I think subtle mods can make a car look fresh and i like to see what people have done with them.
I'd go for the Cupra instead of the FR. If it's right what i've read they handle much better and the extra power is always welcome, they can't be that much different on insurance either can they??
Well owt i seem to get quotes for comes back at around the £500 mark, apart from when i checked the Evo X FQ360, thats over £1000, ouch!

Yeah they are. I looked at the Cupra and the FR when I was buying mine, and to insure the Cupra was an extra £1000 more than the FR!
