Just come back from a weekend away and had left my car on the drive, when I moved the car I noticed a small damp patch on the drive, never really thought much of it as it had been cold on a night so thought maybe a bit of condensation had gathered and dropped on the drive when I moved the car.
Took the car out for a quick spin (about 60+ miles) and all is well until we get a mile from home. Car starts making a loud whining sound when I steer left & right so pops the bonnet up when we get back and checked the power steering fluid & it's well below min. After looking a bit more I can see some staining on the pipe coming off the front of the power steering res, from around the spring clip.
Question is, is it a split / damaged flexi pipe or just the spring clip thats on its last legs & time for a proper hose clip to step in????????
Anybody else had the same thing happen?
What power steering fluid should I use as there's not many Seat garages round here?
Car is a 55 plate diesel FR+ 150, no engine mods.
