Pre-Delivery Inspections

Had a phone call from the dealer today my car has eventually come in, so I asked if I could go in and take a look. When I had a brief look around the car I noticed a small scuff on one of the alloys (probably less than 1cm), I told the sales guy and he said he get the workshop boys to sort it.

I didn't really have time to inspect the car fully for any further marks (and the car was quite dirty) but I will do on delivery.

What I was wondering from you guys is what defects have you picked up on delivery and more importantly what repsonce did you get from the dealers?

i would ask for a new wheel to be sourced, a painted wheel is never the same as an original

My Cupra had a couple of marks on one alloy, like a strap had been placed around it. Bitterly regret having not said anything about it initially as they did mark quite badly and you could never get it out.

You just know the dealer will just swap it with one of the others leon's he has in stock.

my headlamps were off allignment, remember cars are now like everything are are time related for work, hence some things get left out, Seat seem to be bad for leaving the suspension chalks in too. check everything works 1st.

its the bits of plastic they put into the suspension when the car is being transported.

Definatly check the headlight alignment. There are far to many new cars on the road with high headlights. Mine was and it took a week of flashing from oncomming cars before i realised the problem. Better to get it sorted on the day, than wait for them to fit you in.
