Hi Folks,

I'm getting a private plate on my Leon this week. My first name is Lee and the wife has picked L88 as the first part of plate. The second part has already been decided based on my nickname. So do I stick with it or go for L333 or L3 or stick with L88 to say Lee? Just to point out I Can't get L33 as its gone. Thoughts guys?

I know it's personal preference but I just can't decide. I'm also currently doing a twitter poll which isn't helping as its equal on votes at the moment.

Thanks

Hi Lee, I've already got 3 private plates reading my name and my boys. If I was you I'd go for L333 as that "reads" lee. I'll pm you, we've got 3 "33" plates in our family and originally used back to front Es but MOT stations started to question it (think my old man is only one who brazenly changes plate back after MOT).

The L88 just looks like LOO or LBB.

By the way the Lee/LeonFR dual read doesn't mean you have to buy FRs forever. Give yourself an acronym NFR (checkout Nic Cage in Kiss of Death for examples)

Never liked any of these plates that required imagination or squinting your eyes to see what you think It might read. Spend a few bob and buy a decent reg, or just leave well alone.

This. None of your options looks like Lee. I wouldn't have guessed what it was supposed to be unless you had told me.

I got S9JTO (Month of birth followed by date and then my initials), my Dad has the same, only £250 as well which is rare for a 5 letter/number long plate.

You both have the same number plate? That's illegal...
