Problem When Starting

It happens when i start my car up. Normally in the morning but i sometimes happens at lunch. I start the engine and it starts popping and the revs go up and down as if the engine is trying really hard to stop itself from stalling. This happens for about 10-30 seconds. I dont seem to be able to rev the car at this point either. There is no responce from the throttle at all

Any ideas

mine sits at 1200rpm for the first couple of minutes, then drops to 800rpm. this is apparently normal. it doesn't jump around though

Sounds absolutely identical to what happened with mine when the Coolant Temperature Sensor went. Very cheap fix, very easy to do yourself.

The car will rev higher than normal when you first start it and your throttle response will be a bit crap.

Do you get a vacuum noise when you first start it?

Try putting your foot down on the accelerator, and holding it there when this happens to see if this allows you to Rev, this will be slowly at first but it should build up.

Have you had any mods recently?

I had a similar issue, when I had a Vac leek, but also ECU problems at the time, and this only occured if i'd cleared any codes.
