I RECENTLY FITTED A VF34 ON MY LCR BUT UNTIL I HAVE THE SOFTWARE SORTED I RUN THE STOCK INJECTORS WITH REVO STAGE 1. I HAVE BYPASSED THE N75, WHICH IS PLUGGED OF COURSE ,TO AVOID THE OVERBOOST AND I CONTROL THE PRESSURE WITH A MBC. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WITH THE MBC COMPLETELY CLOSED I SHOULD HAVE AROUND 0,5 BAR(7PSI), IN FACT I HAVE 7 PSI UNTIL 4000RPM THEN CLIMBS UP TO 0,7BAR AT 5000RPM AND UNTIL 7000 I HAVE 1,2BAR :wtf: :wtf:

I KNOW THAT THE WASTEGATE OF VF34S HAS A PROBLEM TO HANDLE HIGH BOOST LEVELS BUT I DONT CONSIDER 7PSI HIGH BOOST [:@]

ANY IDEAS

do you know if this MBC is workign correctly?
std IHI VF34 actuator is 5-6psi same as K0x ones roughly

something else is creaping. actuator wont creep on those levels. MBC, or better still no MBC and just actuator pressure until you get mappign to do it properly.

I found the exact same thing on the VF34
Wastegate wide open at 7K gives over 1 bar. The wastegate will only open about halfway with the standard actuator on maximum travel.
As dan says you need to port the waste gate a bit.

Do the Jabba, JBS kits etc come with the wastegate already ported?

My actuator pressure was 1.6 bar untill it was ported

Hmmm, interesting..
my previous VF34 was bog stock. did'nt do this. Odd.

Its surprising how little the std wastegate flap opens tho, from testing them lately.

actuator pre-load pressure on my VF I took off was 5-6psi. Checked it to know where I was starting from recently @ Forge.

Jabba=yes

Cheers Bill, Is it essential?
If so who could do the work and whats a rough price? Trying to weigh up the cost of one from jabba vs. sourcing my own. BTW, if your prices are more reasonable than jabba's for the turbo/manifold let me know also.

Cheers :)

If you want an IHI supply & fit quote let me know..
It is ~£4K drive in drive out, but 2006 brings a price increase I believe.

Supply your own turbo and you wont get warranty

Sorry Bill, I'm up in the North east of scotland so sourcing parts, getting them fitted up here then a one day trip to get it mapped is far easier for me. Plus its going to save me some cash and it can be specced how i want ;) The reason i asked about the manifold/turbo is because its the only parts i'd consider buying from the UK. I understand about warranty.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT IF I RAISE THE BOOST TO 0.8 BAR IT HOLDS THE PRESSURE UP TO A POINT AND THEN IT RAISES AGAIN.THAT MEANS THAT THE MBC, WHICH IS NO-NAME, IS WORKING PROPERLY.

BEFORE PORTING IS THERE A WAY TO CHANGE THE ACTUATOR OR THE SPRING WITH ANOTHER?

BY THE WAY UP TO 1 BAR IT IS NOT RUNNING LEAN,WHICH PROBABLYY MEANS THAT WITH A 4BAR REGULATOR I WILL BE OK UP TO 1..2 [B)] :D

I can supply the parts yes if desired.
You can buy VF34's from abroad making benefits of exchange rates etc, I have done this myself. You do then need to modify them a bit to fit then.

You just need to make sure the spec you are self building is all compatible at the end of the day to avoid later issues when it comes to setting it all up.
