i just bought meself a 2.0 cupra 8v and i cannot believe the state its in:

headlight is hanging out,
boot trim keeps falling off,
rear wiper falls down at random times,
heater dials arent lit,
inner wheel arch trim missing,
lower front grill missing,
buttons missing off center console,
keeps jumping out of reverse gear,
exhaust has been decatted but not even welded half way,
missing lambda sensor (been cut off)
push button start has exposed wires so could easy just start it without keys,
passenger door and boot locks dont turn,
all 3 central locking motors are seized,
theres a nasty rattling when i rev the engine,
gettin average 25mpg thanks to no lambda sensor,
both number plate lights were out,
i doubt theres an immobiliser fitted with the push button start,
front bumper is cracked,
front upper grill is bent,
rear discs are worn,
needs all new tyres,

all this and it passed MOT end of september with no advisories!!!!!! :-o

its not that much hard work to get it fixed, just need new door motors, new indicator and possibly headlight, change bulbs, stainless steel manifold, a REAL!! decat pipe (not just drainpipe), centre pipe and nice shiny back box, not too bothered about crack in bumper, gettin white alloys for it, leave the wheel trim off, tigerseal the boot trim, get thatcham immobiliser fitted by proffesional, discs will last a bit longer.

There aren't motors in a mk2's door, it uses a vacuum system instead.

are they easy to replace? im not sure if it is them but i read in another thread that if ur key doesnt turn at all in the lock and wont lock or unlock its cos its seized. ive had to lock the boot from inside by pulling the rod.

Sounds like something else is seized not the vacuum pupms then, you need to unseize the locks first i'd imagine.

something else ive noticed with the locks, if i lock the passenger door from inside it makes the indicators flash but the drivers door dusnt do owt. is the immobiliser faulty?

passenger and boot locks dont move at all, like as if it was the wrong key. and the door pins are really hard to push down. im gonna try wd40 tomorrow. i need to get alarm specialist to fit a new immobiliser with central locking and auto window shut option and boot lock too.
