PSA: Fake Amazon/Ebay fuses

I just thought you guys might find this video interesting and/or worrying. Some guy on YouTube was testing the cheap generic blade type fuses you can get from the likes of ebay/Amazon.

The TLDR is that he had a supposed 5 Amp fuse and it took over 20 Amps for more than 3 mins, and still showed no sign of blowing!

If any of you have replaced any of your fuses with an unknown brand, then you might want to consider replacing them just to be on the safe side.

Just another of these "things" that most of us thought was well sorted out, and so safe, I'll freely admit that I've never given much thought to there being a quality issue with "no names" spade fuses, though I do always make sure that I only ever buy and use "trusted names" when it comes to "at home" fuses.

Though, when at work I always only ever bought Littlefuse and equivalent machine and instrument control fuses, does make you - or me, think though!
