Hi guys, took my car up the quarter mile stretch for the first time on Sunday at Santa Pod.

Just wondering what times your cars have done it in?

Mine has a stage one remap from performance torque and it did it in 15.01 seconds.
Is that good or bad for a remapped car? (LCR 225 by the way)

Not too bad suppose, did you have problems getting traction?
What tyres do you have and what pressures were you running them at?

well when ever i put my foot down in it the car always spins up, spins in second too up to a point. Ive got falken FK452's all round wich ive have on now since about january. Running at the reccomended pressure of 33psi.

You have been hampered by tyres and pressure then, with these sorted you will do far better and perhaps a little right foot control. The addition of a up rated Dog Bone Mount would help too

what tyres have u got then? i went for these because everyone reccommended them. what psi should i have my tyres at?

452's are very good road tyres but I understand that the ones made by the big boys aren't in everyones budget. £120 per tyre is alot of money, but I guess you get what you pay for. I personally feel very safe using 452's compared to the Pirelli's which were awful.

452s are very light too Japanese tyres tend to be great value.

I have Good Year Eagle F1 Asymmetrics, my friend used these on his 350 BHP MK2 Leon Cupra and was getting excellent starts. He was running 20PSI front and 45 PSI rear AFAI remember.

i run mostly all low 14s. and on some very crap ones where i couldnt get no traction 15. If i got a good start it was low 14s. just try and work on the start feather the accelerator in maybe ride the clutch a tiny bit to you get off the line and floor it. so you have like a rolling start instead of just powering from the line and spining up.

I ran a 15.2 at santa pod in my standard LC. which funnily enough was my first ever run on drag strip. I was running gsd3's at standard pressure but whipped the spare wheel and tool kit out.

I forgot to switch the tcs off on my second run and got a 16.1

I can't wait to get down again now the cars mapped.

I'd of thought a standard LCR would be running into the high 14's no problem
