Hi guys.

Question for those who has the front bumper treated with plastidip, i think i read somewhere that it is best to spray a minimum of 5 layers. i am worried that this will affect the "parking sensors". I think i saw some pictures here from guys who plastidipped their front bumper.

wondering if those have the sensors and if it is working without any errors?

Thanks in advance!

(be gentle, English is not my native language :) )

Seriously?

Welcome!
I can't help you with your question - I'm sure someone will be along soon who can - but don't worry, there is nothing wrong with your language skills. (y)(y)

Don’t plastidip your front bumper

It will peel off / chip and look awful.

really? Did you have your bumper Plasti-dipped?
Thing is, wrap is pretty pricy here (the Netherlands) I informed for it and it costs, approximately, £ 180,-

Not a bumper but i have had grilles plasti-dipped.

The finish isn’t great its a textured matt finish and it will chip / peel over time. Also plasti-dip is crazy bad for you. Read the small print on the back.

Causes birth defects / carcinogenic... etc etc

Plastidip the whole bumper will cost you as you will need loads.
Especially doing 4 coats or more. If you do it. Make sure it’s clean. Really clean. Use isopropyl alcohol all over and ear buds for hard to clean areas.
I’ve usd it loads and it’s clever stuff. Not fun to remove from grills etc. Painting is easier.
I made the mistake of doing my grills.
Twice. Then painted the last time.

I think it was about 5 or 6 (thin). Also did the chrome grill surround but it started peeling after a year so took it off.
Happy for a first ever go though.

Done, six layers of this "Plasti-dip". It is not the original brand but a "removable coating" from Motip. Lets see how long it is gonna stick ;-)
