I fitted my green panel filter the other day and since then my MPG has dropped noticably.
Has anyone else with a green panel filter noticed this?

Also from reading posts from other people with the green panel filter i was expecting a bit of a induction noise but i has not got this.
Any ideas?

No it won't lose your remap, just pull the negative lead off the battery for half an hour - make sure you have the radio security code for your radio if it has one - and then reconnect the lead.

I doubt the addition of a panel filter would have any effect on a dirty EGR, if it's dirty now it must have been dirty before.

Green Cottons are much safer than K&N for the MAF due to the lack of oil coating them, & the MAF is the area they tend to go.

If you have access to VAG COM it can show you MAF readings I believe...

Has the power dropped too ???

K&N AND Green BOTH use filter oil, neither is a dry filter - there is no difference between k&n filter oil and green filter oil other than the difference in colour and how much you put on when you reoil the filter!

I'll do the ECU reset today then and see if it helps.

Power is fine, still pulls like a train.

Most likely not a dirty EGR valve then because the MPG was great on a recent holiday to Poole.

Your lower MPG could be due to something else - the colder weather over the last day or two perhaps ?

Pat your blowing the mith about how great the Green panel filter is nooooo :headhurt:. Next thing you know people will start to notice that they don`t add any extra power either !
Yes everyone i am in one of those moods.:D

Just in case that little remark was aimed in my direction, I know that panel filters don't give any extra power gains, I've had them on my previous cars.
I got a panel filter for a bit better throttle response, which its done, and a bit of induction noise when on WOT, which I haven't got, but others have.

Back to topic, would the colder weather have a negative effect on my MPG?

Cold weather = faster car

Faster car = big smile

Big Smile = more right foot

More right foot = Less MPG

Less MPG = Blame panel filter rather than big foot

I'm wasted on here ;) lol

I'm SO looking forward to some sub zero temps! But not the slippy roads that come with it. Will be nice in a straight line though. :D

I have a green panel filter but under no illusions that it does sod all for power. It's done about 60k now, so has actually saved me a shedload in new air filters. :D It helps the induction noise as well on my motor.

A ECU reset seems to have done the trick and now the car seems better then ever, MPG is back up to what I was getting prior to fitting the green filter and the car seems to be accelerating noticibly quicker as well, although thats most likely down to the cold weather tonight rather then the ECU remap.
