I'm on the market for some 17/18" alloys

I'm looking on eBay

What criteria am I looking for i.e

What do I select as the 'Aspect Ratio' and is that the same as 'Offset' ?

I figured that 7J/7.5J/8J etc means tyre width ......

Sorry for the stupidity, I've searched for some threads, nothing conclusive to make sense off

There not the same to my understanding (correct me if im wrong)

Aspect ratio is the height of the tyre. ie top of the rim to the top of the tyre, tyre profile. low profile tyres have higher cornering force but the ride will be rubbish.

The offset of a wheel is the distance between the centre-line of the wheel and the hub-mounting surface of the wheel. It can be either positive or negative offset. ie deep dish has negative offset or very low positive offset

aspect, don't go lower than 40 (unless your looking for 19")
offset, 30-45

hope that helps

aspect ratio is indeed the profile of the tyre. The profile of a tyre is measured in percentage of the width, so if you were to run a 225/45/17 the profile of the sidewall would be 40% of 225mm (90mm)
