Quick Question on interior

Hi all, total newbie here so please forgive the question if the answer is obvious (and yes I have tried searching for the answer already!)

I intend to buy a Cupra over the next week or so. On looking at various pictures of potential buys on autotrader I noticed that on the centre console, next to the hazzard lights button, there is a round 'tray'. On most of the cars this appears to simply be a large round cubby, some sort of cupholder or place for chucking odds and ends.

On a couple of the pictures I looked at this round cubby seems to be filled in and have some sort of lid on it. Is it as simple that some models have a lid on this (could it be the ashtray if that was an optional item?) or is it something else? Unfortunately none of the pics are good enough for me to see what this thing is.

I also noticed (although it could be pure coincidence) that the two cars where the round thing has some sort of cover on it, also both have the larger MFD in the dash.

It would be really nice if the round lidded thing was something to do with the factory ipod prep, but not holding my breath!

Also I see from other forums that there is a link between the larger MFD and bluetooth prep. Is it a safe assumption that if the larger MFD is present in the dash that the car has the factory fit bluetooth option?

Cheers for your help.

Alistair

If it has the larger MFD, it has factory bluetooth.

The round pot with the lid is the ashtray. I beleive they got rid of this around 2008, as well as the ciggy lighter (just a 12V socket now)

Thats great Dan, thanks for your help. I had a feeling it might be as simple as the ashtray.

Hmmm so that means the red 57 plate I am looking at has bluetooth (and an ashtry lol) and the Crono yellow 08 plate doesnt. The red one is £500 cheaper as well (although it has done 11.5k as opposed to the 7k on the yellow one)

Decisions descisions decisions, oh what shall I do...........

Yes that's the way my thought process is going as well....
I see you have bluetooth, is it any good? I've never owned a car with factory fit bluetooth before?

well i bought the car without bluetooth when it was still new and the dealer didnt tell me anything about it.

with the larger screen, it looks better plus gives you more information. Also has menu's for changing car settings.
With the bluetooth, with most phones, the car will read the phones name and number store, as well as previous dialled received, and missed calls, and display the list in the MFD display.
You can also have voice activation if you teach the system the names and numbers.
you can receive and dial without taking your hands off the wheel.

I have the ashtray and old-school 12v lighter - I believe without the 'smokers kit' you just get a plastic flap covering the socket. (Didn't ask for this and don't smoke, but the car came with it anyway for some reason so 'meh'.)

The Bluetooth is definitely worth having if you have a choice - not just for the easy phone calls and voice control but the extra options it gives you over central locking and coming home lights etc.
It's not 100% essential, but I'd personally rank it above e.g. 18" alloys, as you can upgrade to those later if you fancy without any major retrofitting or ought. It's a personal choice thing of course... I like my sunroof but I know many would not miss it and it certainly wouldn't be worth retrofitting it! ;)

Thanks to all for your opinions, i think the red 57 reg probably wins - I'll put the £500 in the bank and buy something nice with it!

Do Cupra's of this age come with Xenons as standard?
