quick question if i change my head unit in my 2001 leon cupra do i need a wire so that the display function works on ya instrument panel and it is ok to leave the 6 Cd player in the glove box or am i best taking it out

Meeeep Meeeeep !!!!!
If you remove the standard Aura mate you will lose the display on the dash. If you connect an Aura CD unit into an early Leon the dash display doesn't work either.
You will need a harness adaptor to connect an aftermarket headunit to your car but again, it will not work the dash display.
As for the disc changer. If you do fit an aftermarket headunit you may as well take it out cos I won't work with non VAG headunits.

Slightly OT, and forgive my newbie ignorance, but what display are you talking about? Is this something that early Leons had but later didn't, as my 03 plate LCR doesn't have any dash display.

I see, never knew Leons had that. Mine certainly doesn't, which is why I was confused as to what you were talking about :)
Also, the left hand side display is different on mine, as it only shows one thing at a time, whereas yours seems to show two.

Cheers for the pic!

It's because the later models have the trip computer which uses that display and AFAIK the older ones didn't have the trip?
