hey guys quick question. i was looking at replacing all my hose to silicone hose and i notice what looks like a little air filter coming off where the crankcase breather y hose is. is this ment to be there? im on my phone so dont know how to upload a picture to show you =(
by the looks of it someone has done away with the Y piece crankcase breather and put a straight bit hose on instead then has fitted a litte filter that come out engine where the Y piece would have connected. is there any reason why the guy before me done this? or would i be better putting a silicone Y crankcase breather back in?
ok so iv been reading a bit more about this filter its a valve cover breather filter so what is the need for this? i bought the car like this but if u imagine a little air filter coming out the valve cover instead of the Y piece that is usually there. as i was saying i was going to replace the Y piece breather hose with a upgrade silicone one but cant do that unless i take the little air filter piece out as its a straight hose now instead of a Y piece. what are you thoughts? keep breather filter or put in an upgraged silicone Y piece back in? Anyone??
