Radiator fan on full blast after a quick motoryway run?

My radiator fan seems to love going on full blast during any journey over 20mins on the motorway and doesnt slow down even after ive stopped and let it cool for a while. Any ideas what it could be?

Is that a diesel? If so, it's probably doing a regen.

For anyone reading, the car is a 2013 MK3 1.8tsi engine
