Discovered a flat battery this morning after car had been sat unused all weekend. When I jump-started it this evening, the radiator fan came on immediately which I thought was odd. I drove the car for 4ish miles (to attempt to charge the battery), and when I got out and put my foot to the pavement I noticed a lot of heat emanating from underneath the car.
To cut a long story short, the radiator fan seems to be stuck on, and will undoubtedly kil the battery again overnight (if it hasn't already...I'm ashamed to say I don't trust myself even to disconnect the battery).
Any ideas on what might be wrong? Is it something I can attempt myself? If not, how expensive might it end up being? I'm a 29-year-old girl who's a bit rubbish with cars but could probably enlist somebody a bit more mechanically-minded to help out if only we knew where to start!
Thanks in advance!
