Does the passenger seat have a map holder/storage compartment underneath it? If not, it's likely come from one of the side pieces of trim on the base of the seat
It does match the same bolt as what holds the storage compartment but I don’t see any signs to show that a bolt is missing?

@Cain1412 - I’ve found some ‘spare parts’ under the front seats in a previous VW I owned from new - a spare bolt like yours and a spare plastic end cap for the passenger seat runners. I always assumed that the production operative fitting the seats and seat runners in the car when it was built took too many fixings into the car and just left them there rather than used them on the next car on the production line.

So maybe that's what happened when your car was built?

very strange for that part just to be sitting their for a 4 year old car & to only be have found/appeared now ? especially when that seat does get moved often.

Those bolts are used to hold interior trims. I'd see if anything feels loose. if not discard it.

Shame my friend with a Cupra Born didn't move his passenger seat and find an engine :ROFLMAO: .

Picked up my car from the dealer last week and shortly afterwards noticed a spare boot light in the side storage bucket.

It was manufactured in the two weeks before that, so really not too many opportunities for someone to need to replace it; perhaps it was faulty on delivery 🤷‍♂️
