do it!, just key the paint with some wet and dry, then grey primer , finally matt black it. With some mk4 golf steelies sprayed up chrome silver and some 25mm spacers on the back, it would look fantastic

took me ages to polish them slot mags, took me about 6 cans of paint to do the whole car

a mary black leon would be nice so go for it

didn't grey primer mine, just key the paint and put it straight on ! no paint flaking even after 12
months and one bad snowy winter

i have the same thoughts about my 1,6 stella.

but the rust part i aint doing. Thinking of matt black or some matt brownish.

Dont really know where to start tho. except lowering ALOT

Well looks like il be ratting it now! Il start a build thread this weekend with pics etc. Il go on eBay tonight and look for some steelies that will do the job! Going into Salisbury tomorrow so il get about 20 cans of that cheap Matt paint just to make sure! Then il go from there. Need to get some red light tint spray too. Off to hopefully get that high mile cupra later but have rang round a few people and know of a lower miler in red I can have on Saturday if this one is ropey mechanically. Don't care about paint finish fir obvious reasons! Know some people won't like it but hey! It will be different!

I'm sure I can make it look a little ratty! I'm hoping it will be nice and sunny this weekend so I can get started on whichever car I get! At least it will be a cupra! Going to completely stop the back end totally including window motors etc sure I can get the rears bonded into place somehow!
I think it's gonna look good! Leons look quite mean at the front anyway so in Matt black will be even better!

I think it would look good if you did the WHOLE car.
but just a bonnet or some bits here and there and its going to look rubbish IMO.

would like to do this one day, buy a cheap car and do what i can't do to my daily drive.

thought about buying an arosa, stripping and lowering it to the deck but don't have the funds at the minute.

Good idea crime but it's being done on the cheap mate and ain't stripping it back to bare metal!
Alright update on the billion mile Leon!
Went to see it last night and while it pulled quite well on turbo had my friend follow behind in his st fOcus and he said it was blowing blue smoke when I floored it. Also I detected the legendary 3rd gear crunch. When I explained this to the guy he said I had no idea what I was talking about and said all of the 6 speeds do that! I stopped from laughing in his face!
Also had a few other niggles but hey it's a cheap car
Long story short I left him with an offer of £700 if he didn't sell it by Saturday morning as I would be having a red version with 150000 on it for the same price. So either way il be starting to change one or the other by Sunday!
Also already got 25 cans of Matt black an 15 primers from poundworld! £40 to respray a car! Wish my omni yellows would be as cheap!
Also want this car to be as light as possible and strip anything out that is not necessary!
And I WON'T be making it rusty!
Keep the ideas coming!

Believe me I'm no sheep mate! I think the problem is everyone has a nice shiny Leon and don't like the idea of a "rough" looking one! Mine will have steelies on it too! Can't remember ever seeing a Leon without alloys!
