Don't paint them blue, yellow, red or any other lairy colour and you should be fine. Also don't put giltter paint on them :D.

A nice dark shade will make the car look miles better than when it came out of the factory. I look at mine now compared to when they were silver and i'd not go back. It's not uncommon for cars these days to leave the factory with black, anthracite or polished/diamond cut wheels so some people may not even notice.

Andy - I bought my LCR in September and had the exact same problem - as part of the deal the dealer would have the wheels refurbished (Four Oaks Motor Sales in Tamworth, very friendly bloke), only they couldn't do an exact match on the paint so he called me to ask if a slightly darker, anthracite sort of colour would be OK. Hesitated lots over this as I love the standard LCR wheels, but ended up going for it and very happy! Here's some photos:

Above anything, having a smooth finish on the wheels again is just fantastic in my opinion, surely it adds value even though the wheels are no longer their factory paint colour :) (don't forget, you still have the full size spare in its original colour if you ever wanted to go get it matched)

bright bright silver! i think black is over done and looks like you have hub caps that are missing, i have mine done and was in two minds as well but after advice from my dad i went with silver and dont regret it.

Just keeping you all updated, i went for the anthrisite colour and to be honest when i picked the car up i really wasnt sure i had made the right decision, but now i love it, the brembos look great with my LCR being red, and the new centre caps look amazing compared to the seat originals.

Just cant wait for the weather to clear up so i can get it all washed now
