Is my Leon too old to get a remap (x reg), am I likely to be in and out of the garage at this age.

You can do it but, so far as I know the engine will be a non-vvti model and you will only gain up to 196bhp with your remap. Not sure if this is true or not but, if it is, its a bit expensive for an extra 16bhp.

My Leon is an X-Reg Cupra. APP Engine code (non-VVT), done 72k miles and it has the Revo treatment since 20k miles. Goes like stink, gets 28-30mph even with a heavy right foot and not a hint of any problems.

Go for it! I recommend it.

28-30mph hey !!!! I dont really think that really 'Goes like Stink !!"

Are you sure its not a Honda Melody ??

Are there any obvious signs as to which version you have? - Like a vvt unit perhaps?
Have a 2001 Y but it might have been sitting in a dealer for a while

arent the mk3 ibizas on 2000 -x plates, youll have nothing to worry about!

My reg document says - 1st registration was 29/01/2001.

Far to used to 180 bhp but don't want to ruin my balance!!

If it is still young enough or of the right engine type what remap would you go for?

so what models can be chipped? how find out what engine you have and if its possible for it 2 be chipped
