You can do it but, so far as I know the engine will be a non-vvti model and you will only gain up to 196bhp with your remap. Not sure if this is true or not but, if it is, its a bit expensive for an extra 16bhp.
You can get X reg leons with vvt, it depends on which model year it is.
My last leon was a 2001 on an X with vvt.

My Leon is an X-Reg Cupra. APP Engine code (non-VVT), done 72k miles and it has the Revo treatment since 20k miles. Goes like stink, gets 28-30mph even with a heavy right foot and not a hint of any problems.

do a search re maps as theres loads. got mine mapped to 240 at a similar mileage. as long as its been looked after...
You'll get a great gain, and more importantly a safe gain.
Higher mileage is not an issue on these engines, as long as its been maintained well
