My car is a 55plate lcr with 45000 on the clock. Its remaped to stage 1, would you say it should be changed??
Also is £300 a good price fitted with genuine parts and water pump?

Yep - if in doubt, change it. 5 years is a good time to change it. Price isn't massively expensive, but could probably come down a bit.

get it done mate dont want it snaping then it will be a engine rebuild thats a good price to say the bits are 100 quid on there own.

I am a 55plate with 43K and its getting changed next week, i think they recommend now 5yrs or 40k miles, its seems to differ from one dealer to the next.

Where's that from??? My belt kit Inc pulleys etc is £136, plus £26 for pump and £8 for pump belt. Plus being charged £80 fitting.

Mine's getting cambelt and waterpump done this Friday mate.

I'm on an 05 plate with nearly 57k on the clock. I'm doing it for peace of mind before I get her mapped to stage 2 around Dec/Jan time. My fans have been kicking in alot recently more than usual and the waterpump might be on it's way out, so it's just about now it does need doing.

I'd say get it done soon as you can tbh for pure peace of mind so you can crack on with the spending on fun parts for the car :)

In hindsight I'd have done it 1st now rather than buying all the other mods I have done so far..

a poor belt change is worse than nonw at all, my previous cupra was at 100k plus when i cahnged it with no problems. I only had probs when the garage nessed it up. Check the owner guide, it will say when its needed. dont fall foul of cam belt paranoiyer like i did! JONNYVT (CUPRA/LCR owner since 2001)

Mine's going TMC in Canterbury on Friday for the belt/waterpump change so should be fine.

Only heard good things on here about them. Free courtesy car while I wait too.
